My BIG two year old

Kaylee had her 2 year check-up today and she is as healthy as can be, growing and growing.
She is 36 1/2 inches tall (96th percentile) and weighs in at 29 lbs.
She is super tall for her age. She wears size 5 diapers, 3T size tops and 2T jeans (but that's gonna change soon to 3T as well because some of those are already short), her dresses are all 3T and her shoes are size 7.

She is such a girl! I love it! She has been playing with make-up and jewelry for a very long time, but I still love watching her put on my lipstick and lip gloss, eye shadow and blush. She loves getting into my jewelry box as well and tries on everything, but one necklace is her most favorite and she wears it 7 days a week, all day long. Pearl necklace I got from my father in-law. It's not mine anymore. She puts it on first thing in the morning and I have to wrestle with her at night to take it off when she goes to sleep. She does have her necklaces, bracelets and rings but I guess we have a real diva on our hands because she'll only wear the real deal original pearls :o). I also love her sense for fashion. She'll drag me into her closet multiple times a day to show me which dress she wants to put on and I help her get it down and put it on. We do go through quite few of them every day, and skirts and tutu's as well. I love it!!! One thing she does hate is getting her hair done. She won't let me brush it, put it into pony tail or piggy tails, none of that. But she is cute anyway so it doesn't really matter :o)

Kaylee is talking more and more, learning new words every day and repeating everything we say. She has the cutest voice and I melt when she says " I love you", "kisses" (when daddy is leaving for school, she says, "bye, I love you, kisses" and makes the most adorable thing with her lips waiting for a kiss), "please" and "thank you". She is very polite, says "please" almost every time she asks for something and "thank you" after she gets what she asked for. When it comes to discipline, I'm not the one for the job. The girl has me wrapped around her finger and she knows it. I'll have to get a lot better at being the boss. I do have to laugh though when I tell her to do something, like lay down and she doesn't listen, I start to count to 3 and after I say "one" she says "two" and I'm dying from how cute she is. And the same thing goes the other way around. She asks me to come when she needs something and if I don't jump right up, she goes: "one, two...". Funny little girl that Kaylee.

One of her favorite things to do at home is to color, read books, play a tea party, play a dress up, take a bath and watch her movies before bed time.
We can't wait for Spring to come because Kaylee LOVES to go outside. Swinging is her most favorite thing to do in the park, then going down the slide. Feeding the ducks is always fun for her to do, not so much for the ducks as she chases them around like it's her job, and riding the ponies will never get old to her. She could do it all day long.

She is a little better when it comes to eating, but still not as good of a eater as I want her to be. The only fruit she'll eat is a banana, vegetables are limited to broccoli and corn, favorite foods are mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, mac and cheese, pizza, corn dogs, rice and snacks are reese's peanut butter cups, fruit snacks, cheese, strawberry apple sauce, ice cream....

I could go on and on about my little girl but I'll save a few things for another post.
I still can't believe my little baby is not a baby anymore, she has been a part of our family for two years already and believe me when I tell you these past two years has been the best years of our life. Kaylee brings so much joy, laughter and happiness into our every single day and she makes us want to be better people. I love her more than words can ever express and my heart just wants to explode just thinking about how much love I have for her. I'm grateful that I get to stay home with her and don't have to miss out on anything she does. I love when she comes to wake me up in the morning, kisses me good night, helps me cook and bake, vacuum and dust... I love having her by my side every minute of every day. I love how patient she is with me, how she forgives me when I'm not so patient with her sometimes, how she loves me and wants to do everything I do and wants to do everything with me....

Kaylee you are one special little girl that makes me happier that I could ever imagine being. You are beautiful on the inside as much as you are on the outside and I'm so proud to be your mom. I love you to the moon and back times million sweet girl. I'm gonna keep telling you that every single day so you never forget. Happy Birthday again sunshine.

Love, Mom
